Plains Grains Sept. 8 Harvest Summary For Hard Red Winter Wheat

This 2017 HRW harvest summary report of September 8 was compiled and supplied by Mark Hodges, executive director, Plains Grains, Inc. (PGI), Stillwater, OK.

As was indicated in the Sept. 1 report, harvesting is now 100% completed in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Wyoming.

This Sept. 8 report includes three Gulf Tributary “grainshed” maps. In the report, the Gulf Tributary is defined by the top map in the gray shaded area.

The individual grainshed shadings are composite averages of all samples within that area (not weighted for production).

PGI is a private, nonprofit wheat marketing organization dedicated to providing the link between producers of hard red winter (HRW) wheat, grain companies, and foreign and domestic flour millers to benefit all segments of the wheat industry.

It serves the Great Plains and PNW states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming and is guided by a board of directors who represent these states.
