Bay State Milling Appoints Steven Matson and Bart Hahlweg to Milling Director Roles

Quincy, MA - December 20, 2017 - Steven J. Matson joins Bay State Milling as Director of Manufacturing Milling Operations. 

In his role, Mr. Matson will direct and coordinate the collective activities of Bay State’s core milling operations.

He brings 25 years of operations leadership in the food industry with a broad range of experience in flour milling facility management. 

Mr. Matson is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. 

He is a member of the International Association of Operative Millers where he serves as a member of the Education Committee. 

He was previously both a director representing the Wheat State District and Chairman of the Flour City District. Mr. Matson is also PCQI certified in FSMA food safety.

Bart Hahlweg (pictured) joins Bay State Milling Company as Director of Core Milling Commercial Management.  

Mr. Hahlweg will manage the Inside Sales and Customer Service group for core milling as well as assume the responsibility for capacity management in support of the organization’s market sales strategy.

Prior to joining Bay State Milling, Mr. Hahlweg was a regional manager focused on food ingredient distribution and supply chain management. 

In addition, he has over 23 years of experience in operational roles within the milling industry. 

He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture/Business from Colorado State University and is a past president of the International Association of Operative Millers.
