These comments were taken from a First Quarter MILLING JOURNAL interview with IAOM Executive Vice President Melinda Farris

The IAOM Eurasia District had a good meeting in Moscow, Russia, in September 2009.

There were approximately 250 attendees, with most of them coming from Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union.

The host committee was headed by the International Industrial Academy, which also served as the host venue for the event.

We received a great deal of positive feedback from the event, but this district is still in the developing stage, so there is still much room for enhancing the experience of all attendees at the conference.

The IAOM is discussing the possibility of teaming up with the French organization, AEMIC, which is an association of milling school alumni, for the Eurasia District’s fifth annual meeting.

Details still are being finalized, but the tentative dates for this meeting would be Oct. 14-15, 2010, in Reims, France.
