IAOM Correspondence Course

Date Posted: March 10, 2010

These comments were taken from a First Quarter MILLING JOURNAL interview with IAOM Executive Vice President Melinda Farris

In Grand Rapids, MI, IAOM’s board of directors identified the revision of the IAOM correspondence course in flour milling as the top priority for the year.

We hired an instructional designer who has been designing the course based on content produced by industry experts.

The first three units of the revised course are going through their final reviews and should be ready for sale either at the April 2010 conference in Las Vegas or immediately following the conference.

I’ve been tremendously impressed by our members who have volunteered countless hours of their time and shared their expertise acquired over decades of service to the industry.

The revision and upgrade of the correspondence course is a huge undertaking, and it would not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of so many IAOM members—especially those who serve on the IAOM standing committees.

The equipment suppliers also have played an instrumental role in moving the correspondence course forward.

The fruits of their labor will soon be evident, as IAOM’s new and improved course is rolled out later this year.
