These comments were taken from a First Quarter MILLING JOURNAL interview with IAOM Executive Vice President Melinda Farris

The IAOM Latin America District held its first standalone meeting on Nov. 8, 2009 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The one-day technical conference was held on the eve of the annual Latin American Millers Association (ALIM) meeting.

The collaboration between IAOM and ALIM was a great success.

Both organizations had record-setting attendance numbers.

Overall, it was a terrific event.

IAOM currently is working with ALIM on plans for the 2010 meeting, which is scheduled for Nov. 7, 2010 in Cartagena, Colombia.

We will make some adjustments based on our experience in Buenos Aires.

To better accommodate the registration process, we will open on-site registration and combine it with a networking reception the evening before the Latin America District meeting.
