Ivo Klaric's Biography

A native of Bolivia, Klaric is the Association’s first president who is not from North America.

Klaric has been an active member of IAOM since 1985.

He served on the executive committee as treasurer in 2007-2008, and as vice president in 2008-2009.

He was director of IAOM’s Latin America District from 2003 to 2007.

He is also the immediate past president of the International Milling Education Foundation (IMEF), a philanthropic partner of IAOM that funds a variety of educational programs related to the grain milling industry.

Klaric completed his degree in milling science at Kansas State University in 1982 – one of the first Latin American graduates of the program.

He has an MBA in finance from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico; and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico.

Prior to joining Cargill in 2008, Klaric was operations manager at Seaboard-Ecuador., in Guayaquil, Guayas, Ecuador, from 1993-2008.

He was also plant manager of Pro-Granos in Puerto Rico.

Klaric started his milling career at Ferrari & Ghezzi in Bolivia, serving as the head miller of Molino Andino in La Paz from 1982-87, and plant manager of Molino El Pagador in Oruro, Bolivia from 1987-1990.

Klaric was an active member of the Ecuadorian Industrial Millers Association, and served as president of the board of directors at the Inter-American Academy in Guayaquil from 2005-2008.

He served on the school board from 1995-2008.

He was president of the Association of Professional Millers in Bolivia from 1987-1990.
