Romer Labs, a global leader in diagnostic solutions for the food and feed industry, has received official approval from the USDA Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) for its AgraStrip Pro Total Aflatoxin WATEX test kit.
As evidenced by its certification (FGIS 2025-192), this kit, which features a water-based extraction method, enables an accurate quantitative determination of aflatoxins in corn—including dent (field) corn, corn meal, corn flour, cracked corn, corn grits (polenta), and corn screenings.
The AgraStrip Pro Total Aflatoxin WATEX test kit was evaluated alongside the AgraVision Pro reader and was found to meet the stringent USDA-FGIS requirements across a variety of ground corn samples.
“This USDA-FGIS approval is yet another proof of our commitment to providing high-quality testing solutions for the food and feed industry,” said Kurt Brunner, managing director of Romer Labs.
“When paired with our AgraVision Pro reader, the AgraStrip Pro Total Aflatoxin WATEX kit provides reliable, on-site quantification of aflatoxins, allowing for quick and confident decision-making.”
The AgraStrip Pro WATEX test system provides for the rapid and simple on-site quantification of mycotoxins in a variety of commodities. Paired with the AgraVision TM Pro reader, the system allows for the independent and simultaneous testing of up to four samples in an intuitive, walk-away procedure.
Aflatoxins are just one of six analytes currently covered by the AgraStrip Pro WATEX system. Solutions for deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, total fumonisin, ochratoxin A and T-2/HT-2 are also available. In addition, the AgraStrip Pro Ochratoxin A WATEX and AgraStrip Pro Zearalenone WATEX test kits have likewise received USDA-FGIS approval, underscoring the reliability and versatility of the AgraStrip Pro WATEX platform.
