Milling equipment manufacturer Alapala, Istanbul, Turkey, in October announced the commissioning of three mills: a semolina mill in Turkey and flour mills in Mongolia and Mozambique.

Turkey

Alapala completed a 150-tpd semolina mill in Sanliurfa, Turkey for Yiğit Group, the nation’s first semolina mill. The project also included a 500-tpd flour mill.

According to Alapala, the turnkey project includes fully automated production systems and meets Europe’s standards for sanitary design, energy efficiency, and product quality.

“We are proud to have established the first flour and semolina factory in Sanliurfa, the birthplace of 338 wheat varieties,” says Ömer Yiğit, chairman of Yiğit Group.

“This project, carried out in cooperation with Alapala,” he continues, “will transform the efforts of our farmers into high value-added products, making a significant contribution to both the regional economy and Turkey’s exports.”

Mongolia
In October, Alapala announced the completion of a 250-tpd flour mill project for Mill House LLC in Mongolia.

The newly commissioned plant features state-of-the-art milling and automation technologies and is intended to play a role in meeting the nation’s domestic flour demand while reducing its dependence on imports.

“We are proud to contribute to Mongolia’s vision for a modern and self-sufficient food processing industry,” says Alapala CEO Gorkem Alapala. “Delivering our 14th project in the country is a clear testament to the trust placed in Alapala’s technology and expertise,” he adds.

Mozambique

Also announced in October was the commissioning of a 200-tpd flour mill in Mozambique.

The project integrates state-of-the-art milling equipment, advanced automation systems, and energy-efficient technologies, providing high yield and consistent flour quality for both industrial and consumer markets.

“This new mill represents a milestone in the development of Mozambique’s milling industry,” says Gorkem Alapala. “It not only supports local grain processing but also contributes to the region’s sustainable food production goals.”

According to Alapala, the culmination of this endeavor solidifies the company’s position in the international flour milling domain and underscores its dedication to pioneering technology-oriented solutions for food production, with a particular emphasis on the African continent.
