The North Dakota Industrial Commission has appointed Cathy Dub as the next president and chief executive officer of the North Dakota Mill and Elevator, succeeding Vance Taylor upon his retirement after 26 years in the role.
Dub currently serves as chief financial officer and has been with the mill since 2014, when she joined as controller. She was promoted to CFO in 2020.
The commission said Dub’s familiarity with the mill’s operations, history and financial structure made her a strong choice to lead the organization into its next phase. Her experience working with suppliers and customers, along with her financial background, were key factors in the decision.
Dub said she is honored by the appointment and committed to continuing the mill’s long-standing mission while supporting its workforce and maintaining high standards for product quality and customer service.
The North Dakota Mill and Elevator is the only state-owned and operated milling enterprise in the United States and remains self-funded. Established in 1919 and beginning operations in 1922, the mill has grown into the largest single-site mill in North America.
The facility processes about 40 million bushels of North Dakota spring wheat and durum annually, producing roughly 2 billion pounds of finished products each year.
The mill is overseen by the North Dakota Industrial Commission, which includes Governor Kelly Armstrong, Attorney General Drew Wrigley and Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring.
