Puratos USA is expanding its regenerative agriculture efforts by enrolling about 30% of its wheat flour volumes into mass balance regenerative agriculture programs as part of a broader strategy to strengthen its U.S. wheat supply chain.
The initiative, developed with key supply chain partners, advances the company's goal of sourcing 50% of its ingredients through regenerative agriculture by 2030. Puratos said the effort includes measurable milestones, structured progress tracking and continued implementation across its operations.
The company defines regenerative agriculture as an outcome-based farming approach focused on improving soil health, increasing biodiversity and supporting water management while creating long-term value for farmers and rural communities.
To support the transition, Puratos works with farmers, cooperatives and milling partners to encourage practices such as crop rotation, reduced tillage and cover cropping. The company said these practices can improve soil organic matter and water retention, helping create more resilient agricultural systems over time.
The U.S. program marks a move beyond pilot projects into broader commercial implementation within the company's wheat flour supply chain. Puratos said the expansion is supported by established supplier relationships and reporting frameworks designed to track progress throughout the value chain.
The initiative also reflects the company's focus on integrating regenerative agriculture into existing supply chains and production systems while meeting customer needs for practical sourcing solutions.
Puratos launched its first regenerative agriculture programs in 2022. The company said those efforts continue to guide the expansion of its strategy in the United States and internationally as demand grows for greater supply chain transparency and measurable sustainability progress.
