This 2018 HRW harvest summary report of June 29, which includes separate breakout reports from the Kansas Wheat Commission, Nebraska Wheat Commission, and the Oklahoma Wheat Commission, was compiled and supplied by Mark Hodges, executive director, Plains Grains, Inc. (PGI), Stillwater, OK.
Harvesting is about 95% complete in Oklahoma; 84% in Texas; and 59% in Kansas.
Harvesting is underway in Colorado and Nebraska, with completion at 7% and 3%, respectively.
A short-term regional precipitation map from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) also is included in the main report along with a precipitation map for Oklahoma.
PGI is a private, nonprofit wheat marketing organization dedicated to providing the link between producers of hard red winter (HRW) wheat, grain companies, and foreign and domestic flour millers to benefit all segments of the wheat industry.
It serves the Great Plains and PNW states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming and are guided by a board of directors who represent these states.
