USDA Third Quarter 2020 Flour Milling Products Report

On Nov. 2, 2020, USDA released their Third Quarter 2020 Flour Milling Products Report.

Highlights

Third Quarter 2019, July through September, contained 92 days.

Second Quarter 2020, April through June, contained 91 days.

Third Quarter 2020, July through September, contained 92 days.

All wheat ground for flour during the third quarter 2020 was 234 million bushels, up 7 percent from the second quarter 2020 grind of 219 million bushels and up 1 percent from the third quarter 2019 grind of 232 million bushels.

Durum wheat ground for flour and semolina production during the third quarter of 2020 totaled 17.5 million bushels, down 10 percent from the second quarter 2020 but up 10 percent from the third quarter 2019.

Rye ground for flour during the third quarter of 2020 was 452,000 bushels, up 36 percent from the second quarter 2020 but down 2 percent from the third quarter 2019.
