Annual IMEF Auction: IAOM Conference Event Raises Over $60,000

IMEF Funds Now Total $1.9 million.

Little Rock, AR — The International Milling Education Foundation (IMEF) edged closer to its goal of $3 million by the time the auctioneer’s gavel fell on the final winning bid during the International Association of Operative Millers’ (IAOM) 125th Annual Conference & Expo, Aug. 29-Sept. 2, in Little Rock, AR.

The ninth annual live and silent auction raised more than $60,000, bringing IMEF’s total funds to over $1.9 million.

The joint live and silent auction held during the annual IAOM Conference and Expo is the largest fundraising event of the year for the Foundation. The total includes winning bids and pledged donations.

“In recent years, IMEF has funded the development of the Milling Technician certificate program, scholarships to professionals who have enhanced their skills and added to their knowledge of grain processing, and scholarships to some of the top milling science students at Kansas State University (KSU),” said IMEF President Randy Garvert at the conference.

“Earlier this week, we approved funding for the translation of the IAOM Correspondence Course into French, as well as a marketing campaign designed to attract new talent to and increase the visibility of the milling industry.”
