In an aim to strengthen the soil ecosystem and help producers improve their farms’ productivity and profitability, Ardent Mills LLC on June 22 announced plans for a major expansion of its regenerative ag program.

The company is partnering with Nutrien Ag Solutions, the retail division of Nutrien, the world’s largest crop inputs company, to target the enrollment of 250,000 acres of winter and spring wheat cropland into the program by the end of 2022. According to Phoenix Dugger, Ardent Mills corporate social responsibility manager, the company has completed its acreage goal set in 2021. Another goal is to further regenerative ag practices and develop a grower base over the next three years.

Ardent Mills has operated a regenerative ag program for several years utilizing Field to Market’s methodology. Field to Market is an alliance of nearly 150 companies and organizations across food and agriculture committed to supporting resilient ecosystems and enhancing farmers’ livelihoods.

Ardent Mills currently operates its regenerative ag program in Alabama, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Saskatchewan, Canada.
