Bartlett, Kansas City, MO, in late 2021 announced the launch of a new sustainability plan, the Bartlett Kansas Hard Red Winter Wheat Project, in partnership with Field to Market, an alliance of over 150 agricultural and food companies and organizations.

The company says the goal is to drive innovation in farming practices to lower the environmental effects of Kansas wheat production, fight climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and advance soil conditions.

Working with farmers. Bartlett says it will work closely with Kansas wheat producers and other stakeholders to aid in creating a measurable baseline of current farming practices and environmental effects, while also applying strategies to encourage sustainability. The results of these efforts will be measures against traditional farming practices and plan objectives, with the help of Field to Market’s Continuous Improvement Accelerator, a system for designing and implementing projects.

Bartlett President Bob Knief says he looks forward to “engaging and supporting Kansas wheat producers in measuring and optimizing their sustainability performance.”
