The Cowley Mililng Technician program is enrolling students for the 2022-23 academic year.
This 100% virtual program offers a convenient and cost-effective way to enhance your milling knowledge or break into the industry.
The college-credit program is suited to high school students preparing to enter the workforce, current mill employees who need skills training, or individuals looking for a career change.
Convenience and Value
Each course is divided into weekly modules where students interact with the course material, complete required readings in the Fundamentals of Flour Milling textbook and participate in discussions with fellow students and the instructor, who brings decades of milling experience and adult instruction to the course. Students get to practice what they are learning through lab assignments they can complete at their own home or place of work. Dr. Jeff Gwirtz, JAG Services, is teaching the milling curriculum.
The curriculum teaches everything a student needs to know about the fundamentals of milling flour. Courses are entirely online and once they are completed; candidates will complete an in-person internship at a commercial flour mill.
