An update on the association’s global agenda
The International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) is leading the charge with initiatives that significantly impact the global grain milling community. The organization’s robust agenda includes an array of conferences, district meetings, and targeted training sessions designed to enhance industry standards and foster community engagement.
In an innovative outreach effort, IAOM joined forces with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri in January, introducing young participants to the grain milling industry through engaging and interactive activities.
The success of this initiative has led IAOM to develop a replicable model, with detailed guidance and resources soon to be available on its website. This move aims to inspire similar educational events worldwide, nurturing an interest in grain milling among the younger generation.
On the administrative front, IAOM celebrates a significant transition within its team. Annette Peterson, a cornerstone of the IAOM for 10 years, is retiring from her role as office coordinator. Annette’s unwavering dedication and profound impact on the organization have been instrumental in its success.
“Annette’s legacy of commitment and excellence has set a high standard at IAOM,” remarks IAOM CEO Melinda Farris. “As we bid her a heartfelt farewell, we welcome Rebecca Fitzpatrick as her successor. With extensive experience in customer service, Rebecca is poised to infuse new energy into IAOM’s operations.”
