LaVern Huepenbecker, a mill superintendent with Archer Daniels Midland Co. in Forestville, NY, passed away Sept. 13 at age 61 due to a coronavirus infection, according to his family.

The following was posted on his Facebook page and shared by the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM):

"It is with heavy hearts that we share with you that on this day, September 13, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, LaVern Huepenbecker passed away at age 61 from Coronavirus infection.

"LaVern spent his life perfecting his trade, flour milling, and shared that life with his loving wife of 41 years, Dawn.

"He was also a devoted father of two grown boys, Dane (Megan) and Logan (Lindsay), and a proud grandfather of Cole and Abby.

"LaVern enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing, along with spending time at home with his wife and rescue dogs.

"LaVern’s spirit will live on through his surviving family and extended family and he will remain forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to your local animal shelters."
