According to Reuters, in the midst of what the United Nations calls a worsening "global food crisis," Pope Francis is urging authorities to act to lift ban on Ukraine wheat exports.

The pope doesn't want to see Ukraine's grain used as a "weapon of war" and cited the millions of people from the world's poorest countries who rely on Ukraine's wheat as the reason he's speaking out.

In addition to condemning the blocked ports in Ukraine, Pope Francis is also against Russia's invasion of Ukraine more generally.
