Recent soft red winter wheat purchases have sent the U.S. export forecast to the highest level in 10 years.
USDA places the adjustment on Chinese buyers. The Department now expects U.S. exports to reach $145 million bushels for the current marketing year, a level we have not seen since 2013.
If the projections hold true, it would be the first time since records began in the 1970s that soft red wheat exports would come in line with hard red winter wheat.
China was also the largest buyer of U.S. wheat in the latest USDA Trade Report.
